- Chestnut Street | Between W. Aquarium Way + Riverfront Parkway

On Sun., June 5, the following closures will also take place: - Southbound lane of Market Street between Cherokee Boulevard + E. 1st Street beginning at 8 a.m.

Full closure of Market Street (including pedestrians) will begin at 10:45 p.m. + reopen once fireworks end

After three years, Pops on the River Independence Day celebration will return to the Scenic City. The free community music event + fireworks display will take place on Sat., July 2 at Coolidge Park. 🎆
Civic -
Thanks to a partnership between the Community Foundation of Greater Chattanooga, local general sessions courts + more, a new grant from the National Center for State Courts will continue providing aid to local residents facing eviction. This grant will put additional staff in place to help families in their diversion efforts.
Development -
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Chattanooga will break ground on the renovation + expansion of its current location on Thurs., June 9. The planned Warner Mentoring Hub includes a 900-sqft addition that will feature a learning lab, training room, and an outdoor space. 🏗️ (Chattanoogan.com)

Traffic -
According to the Hamilton County Highway Department, Old Hunter Road is now open to through traffic. Work on the road, however, is still in progress. Several lanes will close over the next few weeks as the department continues to repave the gravel road. 🚧

Hamilton County Community Bail Fund will take part in the nationwide Juneteenth Breaking the Silence campaign on Sun., June 19. The campaign works to connect incarcerated people + their loved ones while bringing awareness to the burden of expensive jail calls. Donate here. (WDEF)
