Hello Wednesday.
April 24 2024
It’s Friday, the high is 73º, and the first day of October is merely 1 week away. You know what that means. 👇
It’s time to hunt ghosts, and just in time, too — today is National Ghost Hunting Day. Let’s get to it.
👻 Ghosts in Chattanooga
- Annalisa Netherly | Annalisa haunts room 311 at The Read House Hotel. It’s told that she was beheaded in the bathtub by a jealous lover in 1927.
- Augusta Hoffman | Among 5 other ghosts at the Hunter Museum, Augusta was allegedly murdered by her aunt and uncle — a skeleton was found under the floor of her niece and nephew’s home where she had lived, right next to the Hunter Museum’s location.
- John Brown of John Brown’s Tavern | A Chattanooga legend, John was a captain during the War of 1812, walked the Trail of Tears + was the brother-in-law of John Ross. It is storied that many of his tavern guests went missing, now haunting the grounds along with John, who’s rumored to be buried on the grounds.
There are many, many more, but what fun is a ghost hunt if we tell you all their hiding places?
