We’ve gotten a lot of questions lately about when, exactly, the long-desired Trader Joe’s will officially be open for business in Chattanooga.
Yesterday, we reached out + received the response that there’s no official opening date yet, but to stay tuned via the Trader Joe’s announcements page. In our Instagram comments, however, we heard through the grapevine that "mid-August is the proposed opening date." Either way, you can check out these updates that we do know:
- The store is currently hiring assistant store managers, or “mates”
- Construction has begun at the site (2111 Gunbarrel Rd.)
- A building permit for the store said that construction work is expected to be completed in late July — aka, very soon

Answered: Wondering how many of your fellow Chattanoogans are back in the office + which ones are still grinding at home, sweatpants style?
According to the poll from yesterday’s conversation about Chattanooga’s hybrid work scene, it’s about half + half: 42.8% are back in the office full-time and 40.7% are working from home full-time.
15.9% of you are working on a hybrid schedule, and 1 person voted that they have the same work schedule as the NOOGAtoday editors — some days from home, some from a coworking space.
