Chattanooga is getting ready to help place Afghanistan refugees into our community, more than a month after the U.S. withdrawal.

Bridge Refugee Services of Chattanooga says they are hoping to have 20 to 25 refugees coming in next week.

But, Chattanooga isn't the only Tennessee city waiting for them to arrive.

Organizations in Middle Tennessee will be helping more than 300 refugees in the coming weeks, says United Way of Nashville.

While the funds congress are providing will help to an extent, leaders are asking the public to help as well.

The Nashville community is hoping to raise $300 ,000 to help out the refugees.

So far, about 20 Afghan refugees have made way to the State Capitol with more to come in the following weeks.
