According to information gathered by local service providers, over 4,000 individuals experience homelessness each year in Chattanooga, with over 1,000 children who are enrolled in public schools experiencing homelessness. Chattanooga has the power to make a difference in our communities, and many want to help, but might not know how to get started, like reader Keeli. C:
“Can you do a segment on all of the Chattanooga based organizations that serve our homeless population…and their specific goal/missions. There are many people that want to help and not sure which organization does the best and consistent works.”

To celebrate + educate on local wildlife in their neighborhoods, Chattanooga Neighborhood Enterprise recently invited residents to paint birdhouses during NeighborWorks Week.
The birdhouses not only serve as decor for residents, but as future homes for birds that migrate through the area. We think we see some future Chattanooga muralists in the works. |

Editor's pick: There are a lot of things I’m not, but if there’s one thing I am — it’s a garlic girl. I am so excited to pick up one of Bird Fork Farm’s garlic braids at today’s Main Street Farmer’s Market.
You can hang these braids in a cool spot out of direct sunlight to properly cure + they can last up to 10 months. The market is from 4-6 p.m. today, but you might want to stop by early to snag one before they run out.
